“Troy” Expands Worldwide Reach In Second Weekend Of Release To Reach $231.7 Million In Total Worldwide Boxoffice

(May 23, 2004 – Burbank, CA) – Warner Bros.’ classical epic “Troy” forged ahead at the boxoffice with worldwide grosses for the second weekend totaling $93.8 million, for a worldwide cumulative gross of $231.7 million. The announcement was made today by Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution, and Veronika Kwan-Rubinek, President of International Distribution for Warner Bros. Pictures. Strong midweek attendance in all markets and expansion into Japan, the United Kingdom, Italy and Russia contributed to the strong numbers. Domestic weekend grosses of $23.8 and international weekend tallies of $70 million topped off a strong week in all markets, with the film playing on a total of 17,088 prints around the globe.
