Coffino Earns “Extra” Co-Executive Producer Stripes
(September 6, 2001 – Glendale, CA) – Production veteran Theresa Coffino has been promoted to Co-Executive Producer of the nationally syndicated newsmagazine “Extra” it was announced today by Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey, Senior Executive Producer, “Extra.” Coffino formerly served as Senior Supervising Producer for the show.
“Theresa brings a keen sense for real news and an impressive production background to the show, “ said Gregorisch-Dempsey. “She will continue to play an integral role on our staff as ‘Extra’ moves into its eighth season.”
Coffino joined “Extra” nearly eighteen months ago as Senior Supervising Producer. Prior to that she held a variety of positions at “Hard Copy,” including Field Producer, Coordinating Producer and Senior Producer & Writer in 1995. Prior to “Hard Copy,” Coffino was a Field Producer for “A Current Affair."
Beginning her career in 1984 at WNYW-TV (New York), Coffino worked as a booker for local news. While there she also helped create “Good Day, New York,” which became the prototype for the Fox stations’ morning newscasts throughout the United States. Coffino later joined Lifetime Television in 1987 as a Senior Producer for the series “Attitudes” starring Linda Dano and Nancy Glass.
Coffino, who is based at the “Extra” studios in Glendale, CA, will continue to work closely with Executive Producer Neal Freundlich.
