Mary Hall’s Career Shows Significant Year-To-Year Growth As Her Expertise Is Rewarded With A Promotion To Sr. Vice President, Research At The WB

(January 15, 2002 – Pasadena, CA) – Mary Hall, who has been a vital member of The WB’s Research Department since 1996, has been elevated to the top post of Senior Vice President, Research at The WB, it was announced today by Jed Petrick, President and Chief Operating Officer of The WB. Ms. Hall is responsible for all research related to programming, development, distribution, publicity, marketing and sales at The WB. Ms. Hall, who previously served as Vice President, Research at The WB, will oversee the network’s entire research staff, which has offices in Los Angeles and New York. She will report to Mr. Petrick and Jack Wakshlag, who vacated the top spot when he was recently named Chief Research Officer of Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., which includes all of Turner’s cable channels and The WB. "Mary Hall has played a key role in The WB's growth and success over these last five and a half years,” Mr. Petrick said. “She brings very strong analytical tools to this important position and her intimate knowledge of The WB's unique marketplace position and future initiatives, combined with the company wide respect she has earned, made the decision to hand Mary the research reigns a simple one." “Since her arrival at The WB, Mary and I have been inseparable partners in crafting strategic research,” Dr. Wakshlag said. “Nobody is more deserving or more qualified to head a network research department than Mary.” Ms. Hall, formerly the Director, Research for The WB, has been with the network since August 1996. Prior to joining The WB, Hall was Director of Research at CBS O&O KCBS-TV in Los Angeles. Prior to that appointment, Ms. Hall worked with Dr. Wakshlag at the CBS Television Stations Division in New York. She started her career in research as an analyst at KCBS-TV. Ms. Hall, who majored in broadcast management, is a graduate of the University of Southern California. # # #
