“Sabrina, The Teenage Witch” Welcomes Exciting Guest Stars This Fall

(September 17, 2002 - Burbank, CA) – “SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH,” the magical comedy starring Melissa Joan Hart, premieres its seventh season -- its third on The WB -- on Friday, September 20 (8:30-9:00pm ET) and welcomes a line-up of exciting guest stars. The premiere episode will feature scenes shot with MTV “Total Request Live” host Carson Daly and will include a performance by rock group Course of Nature. Carson Daly, who began his career in radio, first joined MTV as a VJ before becoming the permanent host of “TRL” in 2000. In addition to his MTV duties, Daly also is the host of “Last Call with Carson Daly,” a late night show on NBC. The show will continue to carry on its tradition of hosting a wealth of guest stars, starting with Howie Dorough from the award-winning Backstreet Boys on Friday, September 27. Dorough will portray an arrogant rock star who comes face-to-face with Sabrina (Hart) after she writes a scathing article about the rocker for her magazine. Award-winning R&B star Ashanti, will perform in an upcoming episode. Ashanti, was recently named Choice Breakout Artist at the Teen Choice Awards and as well as Entertainer of the Year and Best New Solo Artist at the recent Lady of Soul Awards, and was nominated for three MTV Video Music Awards. Her eponymous debut album featuring the hit single duet with JaRule, “Always on Time,” hit number one on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart in early 2002, and her second single “Foolish” broke through the Top Ten in March, along with “Always on Time” and “What’s Luv,” her duet with Fat Joe, giving her three top ten songs in the same week. Avril Lavigne, who recently won the MTV Music Award for Best New Artist in a Video (“Let Go”) will also perform in an upcoming episode. Lavigne’s debut album, “Let Go,” has already broken through the Billboard 200 chart after only twelve weeks in release while her hit single “Complicated” has hit the number two spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
