“Street Smarts” Declared A Firm Go For Sophomore Season
(June 13, 2001 – Burbank, CA) – Telepictures Productions’ syndicated comedy game show “Street Smarts” has been renewed for a second season on 140 stations representing more than 90% of the country, it was announced today by Bill Marcus, Senior Vice President & General Manager, Telepictures Distribution.
“‘Street Smarts’ breaks the pattern of game shows that predominately appeal to older viewers, attracting one of the highest concentrations of young adults among all syndicated programming,” said Marcus. “We find it extremely rewarding when viewers and stations create a demand for a show and we couldn’t be more pleased that this series will be back for a second season.”
For the 2000-01 season, “Street Smarts” ranked as the number one new game show across all key demos: W18-34 (1.7), W18-49 (1.5), W25-54 (1.3), M18-34 (1.2), M18-49 (1.3), M25-54 (1.2), and averaged a 2.0 national household rating.
“Street Smarts,” created by Scott St. John (“Change of Heart”), is a fast-paced, multi-round game where two contestants face off to determine which of them can best predict the answers given by everyday people to questions posed by the series’ host, standup comedian Frank Nicotero.
“Street Smarts,” a Dawn Syndicated Production in association with Entertain The Brutes and Telepictures Productions, is distributed by Telepictures Distribution. # # #
