Channel 4 Picks Up Warner Bros. International Television Distribution’s Hot New Dramas

(July 8, 2003 – Burbank, CA) - Channel 4 this week signed a new Warner Bros. International Television Distribution. Acquisitions deal for two of its hottest new dramas “The O.C.” and “NIP/TUCK.” Channel 4 has acquired UK terrestrial rights to 13 initial one-hour episodes of “NIP/TUCK.” Created by Ryan Murphy ("Popular") this black comedy drama series follows the lives of two Miami based plastic surgeons. Starring DYLAN WALSH as Dr. Sean McNamara who has become disillusioned with the superficiality of his work, and JULIAN MCMAHON as Dr. Christian Troy, who picks up breast augmentation patients while bar hopping. JOELY RICHARDSON also stars. The New York Times said, “’NIP/TUCK’ is extremely graphic, slickly produced, expected to be one of the most talked about shows of the summer ... ” Sexy new teen drama “The O.C.” created by Doug Limam (“Go”) and McG (“Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle”), has been picked up for both Channel 4 and E4. The initial 13 one-hour episodes follows the life of wayward teen Ryan Atwood (BENJAMIN MCKENZIE), who arrives in the fabulously wealthy and glamorous, Orange County after being taken in by his idealistic public defender Sandy Cohen (PETER GALLAGHER). Ryan is set to change the lives of all around him including the beautiful but troubled girl next door.
