Jon Kelley Named Co-Host Of Weekend Edition Of “Extra”

(August 22, 2002 - Burbank, CA) - Veteran sports reporter Jon Kelley has been named co-host of the one-hour weekend edition for the newsmagazine “Extra.” The announcement was made today by the series’ Senior Executive Producer, Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey. Kelley, also a correspondent for the series’ daily show, will host alongside Dayna Devon. In making the announcement, Gregorisch-Dempsey commented, “Jon is a triple-threat. He has a unique interviewing style, deep contacts in the entertainment industry and extensive experience covering sports.” Kelley has been with “Extra” since the fall of 1999. He joined the series from Fox Sports Network, where he served as the main anchor of “The National Sports Report,” and the lead anchor for the weekly series, “Baseball Today.” Prior to joining Fox Sports, Kelley was a top sports anchor on the NBC owned-and-operated station WMAQ-TV in Chicago. Kelley has also done stints as a sports reporter and weekend sports anchor at WDAF-TV, Channel 4, the Fox affiliate in Kansas City, Missouri and worked as a news reporter at KMTV-TV in Omaha, Nebraska. He began his career as a weekend sports anchor and reporter at KTIV-TV in Sioux City, Iowa. “Extra” is a Time Telepictures Television production and is distributed by Warner Bros.
