Open Casting Call Scheduled In Eight Cities For The WB’s New Reality Show “Lost In The USA” That Takes The Competition On The Road

(June 14, 2001 – Burbank, CA) — The WB is calling for contestants to compete for cash and prizes in a new series premiering this fall, “LOST IN THE USA,” a reality-based game show that hits the open road from the creators of “The Real World” and “Road Rules.” Premiering on The WB this fall (Sundays, 7:00-8:00 p.m. ET), “LOST IN THE USA” pits 4 teams comprised of three people against each other in a grueling 48-hour gauntlet of tests, tasks and time trials that could take them anywhere in the U.S.A. Supplied with RV’s yet deprived of any funds, the teams must rely on cooperation, creativity and quick thinking to complete “scavenger hunt” type missions that will reflect the local color and landmarks of a specific region. Teams of three may apply together as a unit or strangers may be combined based on an underlying connection. “LOST IN THE USA” will be uniquely interactive as viewers will collaborate and conspire with the players in real time via the Internet and telephone. At the end of each episode, members of the two teams that were the last to cross the finish line plead their cases to the viewing audience before one team is voted out. Each week, the top team collects its prizes (like SUV's or trips around the world) and a new local team replaces the losers. Mary-Ellis Bunim, John Murray (“The Real World,” “Road Rules”) and Rick de Oliveira serve as executive producers on “LOST IN THE USA” produced by Artists Television Group and Bunim/Murray Productions.
