Pedro Almodovar's “La Mala Educación” Opens To €1,180,000 For Warner Bros. Pictures International In Spain

(March 23, 2004 - Madrid) - Pedro Almodóvar's new film “La Mala Educación” (“Bad Education”), a Warner Sogefilms release of an El Deseo film, opened on March 18, 2004 in Spain to €1,180,000 and 250,000 admissions (Warner Sogefilms is Warner Bros. Pictures International’s distribution joint venture in Spain with Sogecable). “La Mala Educación,” which had the biggest opening ever in Spain for any Pedro Almodóvar film (out of 15 films), will be released by Warner Bros. Pictures International in Italy in October 2004. “La Mala Educación” is written and directed by award-winning director Pedro Almodóvar (“Hable Con Ella,” “Todo Sobre Mi Madre”) and stars Gael García Bernal, Fele Martínez, Javier Cámara, Lluis Homar and Daniel Giménez Cacho. “La Mala Educación” tells the story of two young boys, Ignacio and Enrique, who discover love, cinema and fear in a religious school at the beginning of the 60s. Father Manolo, the school principal and their literature teacher, is a witness and a part of these discoveries. The three characters meet again twice, at the end of the 70s and in the 80s.
