SK Telecom Launches Original Digital Series “Sorority Forever” On Its Mobile Platform In Korea Via Deal With Warner Bros. International Television Distribution

(December 4, 2008 - Burbank, CA and Seoul, Korea) – SK Telecom (SKT) has struck a deal with Warner Bros. International Television Distribution (WBITD) to launch the original shortform digital series “Sorority Forever” – from director/producer McG (the upcoming feature film “Terminator Salvation,” “Supernatural,” “The O.C.”) and Big Fantastic – on its mobile platform in Korea. The series is available to SKT users via the Nate and June services on their mobile devices. The announcement was made today by Lee Soohyok, Senior Vice President, SK Telecom, and Jeffrey R. Schlesinger, President, Warner Bros. International Television. A new original episode of “Sorority Forever” (most between 2–3 minutes in length) debuts each day for 40 weekdays, through to the conclusion of the series. Each episode is available in both VOD and Still Image form. In order to watch “Sorority Forever” on mobile, SKT users can connect to Nate or June. Each episode on a VOD basis is 400 KRW and Still Image is 1,000 KRW. Also, SKT is providing a Season Pass at 4,900 KRW which gives fans access to all 40 episodes of the series. ”Sorority Forever” is an innovative mystery/drama which peeks behind the walls of one of the most intriguing secret societies in the world: the sorority. With a mystery around every corner, the series provides viewers with a sexy and immersive experience that is simultaneously realistic and voyeuristic. Think “Prom Queen” meets “The O.C.,” but set in college. “We believe the Internet series format (shortform) is optimal for mobile due to its short running time,” said SK Telecom. “With the growing number of DMB and digital contents users, we’ll be focusing more on specialized content to expand and bring quality programming to our service.” “‘Sorority Forever’ is the perfect series for mobile, a shortform digital show that will appeal to viewers interested in compelling dramatic storytelling that they can engage with quickly and at their convenience, in a reliable and legal way,” said Schlesinger. “We look forward to working with SKT to bring this series to mobile users in Korea.” Along with the launch of the series, SKT started a promotional campaign for “Sorority Forever,” offering prize giveaways for each purchase of a “Sorority Forever” episode. Users will be eligible to win prizes such as game consoles, PSPs and MP3 players. The launch of “Sorority Forever” on mobile in Korea continues WBITD’s global distribution strategy for original shortform programming. WBITD has previously launched the show on broadband services in several territories around the world, including Bebo in the UK, MSN in Canada, GOM TV in Korea, and TVNZ ondemand in New Zealand. The series originally launched in the U.S. on the Warner Bros.
