Warner Bros. Pictures Finishes Weekend Strong With “The Whole Nine Yards,” “My Dog Skip”
(March 6, 2000 – Burbank, CA) - With many Americans preparing to cast ballots in Super Tuesday’s elections, moviegoers voted with their wallets and made it a Super Weekend at the box office for Warner Bros. Pictures and two of its releases: “The Whole Nine Yards” and “My Dog Skip.”
With box-office receipts of $7.16 million, “The Whole Nine Yards” from Warner Bros. Pictures, Morgan Creek Productions and Franchise Pictures finished at No. 1 for the third consecutive weekend since its release, bringing its cumulative box-office total to $38.32 million. The comedy stars Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry.
After eight weekends in limited release, Warner Bros. Pictures and Alcon Entertainment’s “My Dog Skip” was the top family film after it opened wide across North America in 2,331 theaters and scored $5.86 million in gross box-office receipts, bringing its cumulative figure to $6.582 million. The picture features Frankie Muniz, star of the breakout hit TV comedy “Malcolm in the Middle,” and Kevin Bacon, Diane Lane and Luke Wilson.

“My Dog Skip” appealed to audiences across North America, with Edwards Stadium Fresno at $14,262, Highlands Ranch Denver at $13,368, Edwards San Marcos with $13,000, Jordan Commons Salt Lake City at $12,873 and the AMC Cantera, Chicago, with $11,566.
