Warner Bros. Pictures To Release Action Thriller “Collateral Damage,” Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger

(November 14, 2001 – Burbank, CA) – Warner Bros. Pictures will release the action thriller “Collateral Damage,” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, nationwide on February 8, 2002, it was announced today by Dan Fellman, President, Domestic Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures. “Immediately following the tragic events of September 11th, a unanimous decision was made by the Studio, the filmmakers and Arnold Schwarzenegger to postpone the October release of ‘Collateral Damage’ out of respect for the victims and their families,” Fellman said. “Since then, we’ve taken great care to find the proper release date for this picture. We recently screened the film for a test audience, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. We believe that ‘Collateral Damage’ is a compelling, relevant and entertaining picture that audiences will want to see.” The film’s storyline follows the efforts of a Los Angeles firefighter, played by Schwarzenegger, who seeks vengeance against a Colombian terrorist following a bomb attack that kills his wife and son. “We made the decision to hold ‘Collateral Damage’ because it was the right thing to do, and we needed to let America grieve and heal following the attack on our nation,” Schwarzenegger said today. “We were confident there would be an appropriate time to release this film and trusted the audience would tell us when the time would be right. “Entertainment has always played an important part in raising the morale of our nation during difficult times,” Schwarzenegger continued. “Even during World War II, the movies brought the American people together, not only providing a necessary diversion, but also offering hope and heroes. I believe that in February, audiences will be ready to go to theaters to see movies like ‘Collateral Damage,’ where good triumphs over evil.” Warner Bros.
