The WB‘S November Sweep

(October 22, 2002 – Burbank, CA) — The WB Network will kick off the upcoming November sweep with a line-up of original episodes featuring music, dancing, danger, life-threatening medical emergencies, time travel, broken hearts, great guest stars and the end of the world. On Thursday, October 31, Halloween will be frighteningly funny when Jamie Kennedy welcomes a surprise guest star and gives dubious advice to young trick-or-treaters on “JKX: THE JAMIE KENNEDY EXPERIMENT.” On “FAMILY AFFAIR,” Mr. French (Tim Curry) and Uncle Bill (Gary Cole) go to great lengths to give the twins (Sasha Pieterse and Jimmy “Jax” Pinchak) and Sissy (Caitlin Wachs) the kind of trick-or-treat experience they learned to expect back in Indiana, while on “DO OVER,” Joel (Penn Badgley) tries to change the history of his first kiss, which just happened to occur on Halloween night. Starting on November 1, Friday nights in November will see dating dilemmas for just about everyone when Holly (Amanda Bynes) develops a crush on an animal activist on “WHAT I LIKE ABOUT YOU,” and Sabrina (Melissa Joan Hart) finds herself trapped in a computer with Scooby Doo and Shaggy on “SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH.” That same night, “REBA” finds that re-entering the dating world isn’t always pretty, and David (Pablo Santos) takes his life into his hands when he dates a cheerleader friend of his popular sister Maria (Aimee Garcia) on “GREETINGS FROM TUCSON.” Sunday nights will feature the supernatural powerhouse pairing of “CHARMED” and “ANGEL.” On November 3, the Charmed Ones are trapped in the manor with their own personal demons, and on November 10, Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) inadvertently opens a time tunnel that allows a warlock from the future to steal the Book of Shadows and kill two of the Charmed Ones. Also on November 10, in an episode written and directed by series creator Joss Whedon, all the characters on “ANGEL” revert to their high school-age personas when Lorne (Andy Hallett) performs a memory spell on Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter). On November 17, when Cordelia’s visions of the coming Apocalypse become reality, Angel (David Boreanaz) struggles to destroy a beast from the bowels of the earth, while fire rains down onto the streets of Los Angeles. On Monday, November 4, Eric Camden (Stephen Collins) continues to recover from his medical crisis, only to face a career crisis when a young associate pastor (Jeremy London, “Party of Five”) joins the church on “7TH HEAVEN.” Comedienne Phyllis Diller also guest-stars in the episode as a not-so-neat housekeeper. The November 11 episode features a script written by former cast member Barry Watson and a guest appearance by comedian Richard Lewis. On the November 4 episode of the new hit drama “EVERWOOD,” Dr. Brown’s (Treat Williams) skills are put to the test when he performs a delicate surgery on Amy’s (Emily VanCamp) comatose boyfriend, then finds himself forced to perform an emergency operation when a snowstorm traps people at a party on November 18. Dr. Brown also faces a heart-wrenching decision on whether he will allow Ephram (Gregory Smith) to return to New York with his grandparents. The New Tuesday team of “GILMORE GIRLS” and “SMALLVILLE” has its share of surprising events starting November 5 when Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel) attend a baby shower for Christopher’s (David Sutcliffe) wife-to-be, Sherry (guest star Madchen Amick. “Twin Peaks”). The fun continues on November 12 with the annual Stars Hollow dance marathon, which Lorelai is determined to win, even though Rory is distracted by the attentions of both Dean (Jared Padalecki) and Jess (Milo Ventimiglia). Rory’s college plans are thrown into chaos when a trip to Yale University with Richard (Edward Herrmann) and Emily (Kelly Bishop) causes a family blow-up on November 19. On the November 5 episode of “SMALLVILLE,” Clark (Tom Welling) is shocked when a woman (guest star Blair Brown, “The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd”) suddenly appears and claims to be his biological mother, while Lana (Kristin Kreuk) makes a disturbing discovery about her own family history. On November 12, Clark and Lana rescue their telepathic young friend Ryan (guest star Ryan Kelley) from an institute run by an evil doctor, only to learn that the boy faces a far more serious threat. Additional “SMALLVILLE” guest stars include Jonathan Taylor Thomas (“Home Improvement”) and William B. Davis (Cigarette-Smoking Man from “The X-Files”). On Wednesday, November 6, “DAWSON’S CREEK” turns up the heat when Pacey (Joshua Jackson) falls for a beautiful young woman (Jamie Bergman, “Son Of the Beach”) who turns out to be a call girl. On November 13, Dawson (James Van Der Beek) gets tickets to a No Doubt concert, where Natasha’s (guest star Bianca Kajlich) behavior results in a brush with the law and Joey (Katie Holmes) continues her volatile relationship with Eddie (Oliver Hudson). On the November 6 episode of The WB’s new smash hit, “BIRDS OF PREY,” Dinah (Rachel Skarsten) is startled to learn that her mother was once Black Canary (guest star Lori Loughlin, “Full House”), Batman’s former protégé. On November 27, Huntress (Ashley Scott) is strangely attracted to another metahuman, Darkstrike (guest star Kristoffer Polaha), who comes to New Gotham in search of a serial killer. Coming full-circle to the Thursday night comedies, the November 21 episode of “FAMILY AFFAIR” finds Uncle Bill happily dating a single mother, but Sissy and the twins have issues with the woman’s two boys. On the November 7 episode of “DO OVER,” Joel contemplates the chance to win a talent contest by stealing a hit song from the future. Also on November 7, Jamie Kennedy heads to Las Vegas for a special one-hour episode of “JKX: THE JAMIE KENNEDY EXPERIMENT.” On November 14, Jamie poses as the assistant to a top television star and on November 21, he plays a casting director for a commercial to promote a film star’s new fragrance. # # #
