Abbott Elementary: Season 1

In this workplace comedy from writer/executive producer/star Quinta Brunson (A Black Lady Sketch Show) and executive producers Justin Halpern & Patrick Schumacker (Harley Quinn), a group of dedicated, passionate teachers - and a slightly tone-deaf principal - are brought together in a Philadelphia public school where, despite the odds stacked against them, they are determined to help their students succeed in life. The staff at Abbott Elementary includes Janine (Brunson), a new, optimistic, and slightly naive second grade teacher with much to learn; Gregory, a substitute-turned-permanent teacher; Ava, the unprincipled new principal; Jacob, a new, overtly liberal, try-hard history teacher; Melissa, a tough, longtime teacher with a well-controlled classroom; and Barbara, a longtime and highly respected matriarch-like teacher. Though these incredible public servants may be outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do - even if they don't love the school district's less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children.
